Spring 2015 Wellness Cooking Classes
The Best Place to Work Initiative in conjunction with Human Resources and UWM’s Restaurant Operations is excited to offer two new healthy-cooking classes as a part of UWM’s Wellness Program.
Join certified Executive Chef, Matt Powers and other professional staff members of Restaurant Operations for a hands-on learning experience in healthy food preparation. Take away new skills and your own freshly-made carry-out that’s both good for your and great-tasting.
How do I register?
Registrations for these introductory classes are limited, and accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis.
To register, send an e-mail request to Loree Krause at email@example.com, and include the CLASS NAME in the SUBJECT line of the e-mail.
How do I pay?
Payment for each class is due by Monday, March 30, 2015 for Sushi 101, and Monday, May 4, 2015 for Salsa! Salsa! Salsa! Checks or exact cash only. Checks should be made out to UW Milwaukee Human Resources and delivered to Engelmann Hall 125, Attention: Loree Krause.

Reminder: It is recommended that you consult your physician regarding any potential health concerns BEFORE participating in these wellness classes. (For instance this could include food allergies or other potential health risks related to cooking classes which involve general food handling and preparation with group-level supervision in a large kitchen setting.)
There will be NO refunds issued for cancellations on or after the class date. Also be mindful of others that may be on the waiting list for these classes.

Introduction to the different types of sushi, techniques, ingredients, recipes, and a hands on approach on preparing and rolling your own sushi.

Learn and be able to create a variety of different styles of salsas (Roasted, Pureed, Chopped, etc.), all while utilizing different types of flavor profiles.
