UW-Milwaukee is a member of eduroam, a worldwide consortium of institutions providing access to wireless service using a visitor's home credentials. It was developed for the international research and education community, including faculty, staff and students.

What this means for you

As a member of the UWM community, eduroam allows you to connect to a member institution's wireless network using your ePantherID, password and a properly configured wireless-capable device.

For visiting members of other participating eduroam institutions, eduroam will allow you to connect to the eduroam option of the UWM WiFi wireless network using your home institution's credentials.

For more information about eduroam and a list of member institutions, visit eduroam.

Availability

The eduroam wireless network is available in UWM buildings with the UWM WiFi service.  For a list of buildings, visit the WiFi Availability Web page.

Connecting

In order to use the eduroam wireless option at participating instituions, you must first set up your device(s) at UWM to access the eduroam option.  This must be done here at UWM and cannot be done at another institution.  For additional information and setup instructions, visit the UWM eduroam Instruction Web Page.  Note: In order to properly setup eduroam, your devices should be virus-free and an updated wireless network adapter installed.

Login Information for Accessing eduroam

When connecting to the eduroam wireless network option, it is very important to include both your home instituion's username as well as your home domain (plus your password) in order to log into the service.

For UWM faculty, staff and students, this will be your email address (ePanther@uwm.edu) and your ePanther password.

Conditions of Use

The use of eduroam is governed by University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee's Acceptable Use of Information Technology Resources Policy.

Visitors at UWM using UWM's eduroam wireless option are also required to adhere to their home institution's acceptable use policies.  Authentication and activity may be logged and monitored for statistical purposes and network abuse.
