Becoming a Partner
We welcome your interest in service learning
at UWM and invite you to contact us about becoming a
partner.
As a partner, you'll be actively involved
in strengthening the community and your agency by:
- Offering students a chance to contribute
to community development and renewal.
- Participating in the educational process
and building links to the university
- Fostering an ethic of service and civic responsibility
in students and helping students become more invested in
the community
- Enhancing/expanding your services
Agencies collaborating with the UWM Institute
for Service Learning offer students:
- Community service experiences that are related
to course work. Service learning staff will help you link
your service needs with course goals
- Orientation/training that prepares students
for the work they will be performing
- Sound guidance and supervision
- A chance to make suggestions and receive
feedback
