Broadening horizons: the benefits of service learning
Although some students say they’re apprehensive about starting a service learning placement, in the end most report a very positive experience—one that has not only enriched their class work but also changed the way they think about other people, other cultures and the needs of the community.
Service Leaning offers students a chance to:
- Make a difference in the lives of others
- Experience first-hand issues discussed in the classroom
