An Leabhar Mór: The Great Book of Gaelic Opening
The Center for Celtic Studies at UW-Milwaukee will host the only American exhibition of the Great Book of Gaelic, a traveling art exhibit from the Gaelic Arts Agency, Isle of Lewis, Scotland.

The exhibit will be on campus from October through December, 2008 with an October display in the Art History Gallery and an October through December display in the Special Collections Gallery.

On Friday, October 17, the public is invited to the reception and gallery openings. Both galleries, which usually do not have evening hours, will be open that evening.

The reception, sponsored by the St. Andrew's Society of Milwaukee, will be held in the 4th floor Conference Center of the Golda Meir Library from 5-7 pm. At 6 pm, there will be readings of Gaelic poetry from The Great Book.

An exhibit of pages from The Great Book will be on display in the Golda Meir Library's Special Collections Gallery, next to the Conference Center. The Art History Gallery, in Mitchell Hall 154, will be open from 7-9 pm.
