Biological Sciences Graduate Studies

The deadline for receipt of completed applications is January 1

Minimum entrance requirements include an undergraduate major in one of the biological sciences or in a related field and some course work in the area of specialization. Undergraduate course work in chemistry, mathematics and physical sciences is desirable. A completed application must include the following items:

  • A signed application form
  • Official transcripts from all undergraduate (and graduate if applicable) institutions attended.
  • Official results of the Graduate Record Examinations (GRE)
  • A personal statement.
  • Letters of recommendation (see requirements for PhD and MS programs)

Please note that the process of mailing and receipt of official transcripts, letters of recommendation and GRE exam results frequently takes several weeks. Students are advised to begin the application process early to ensure that completed applications are received by the January 1 deadline. Applications received after the deadline cannot be guaranteed financial support.
