NMR Spectroscopy

This facility consists of two Bruker NMR spectrometers. In addition, several Unix workstations are available for offline data processing.

  • DPX300: The main workhorse for routine 1D and 2D experiments. Experiments can be run in a semi-automated mode with computer-controlled acquisition, processing and plotting. However, manual experiment set up and processing is possible and encouraged. Currently, besides standard 1D proton and carbon NMR a variety of homo and heteronuclear gradient-supported 2D experiments (COSY, HSQC, HMBC) can be performed on a routine basis.
  • DRX500: This instrument is used for more involved two-dimensional experiments, low temperature work and solid state NMR. The major applications are currently NMR of biological samples (Metallothionine, Bleomicin - DNA complexes), Fe-carbene catalysts and the study of zeolites.
