Graduate Focus:
Masters student in rhetoric with an emphasis on politics and popular culture. More specifically, I am interested in techniques which frame political discussions and arguments, as well as how popular culture contributes to our understandings of social, cultural, and political issues and arguments.

Teaching Interests and Experience:
My coursework is preparing me to teach all levels of introductory courses related to communication, including interpersonal, business and professional, and public speaking. This year I will be teaching COMM 103, Public Speaking.
Professional Service and Activities:
Bakhtin and the Buffalo Beast: The carnival and ethical aspects of the Scott Walker prank call, upcoming presentation at the National Communication Association Conference, New Orleans, LA, November 17-20, 2011.
Volunteer judge at Public Speaking Showcase, UWM (2010-2011).
Competed in Individual Events (IE) as an undergraduate student.
