Focus of Graduate Studies:
I’m a first-year doctoral student interested in communication and technology, particularly in higher education settings.
My research interests include social media, workplace communication, and communication in higher education (both inside and outside of the classroom). I am currently assisting with a study on the potential impact of social media use in large lecture classes.
Teaching Experience and Interests:
I am especially interested in teaching courses related to computer-mediated communication and workplace communication. Currently I teach COMMUN 105 Business and Professional Communication, and I previously taught a career exploration and preparation course focused on media-related careers. I hope to teach COMMUN 313 Human Communication and Technology at some point during my doctoral program.
Relevant Professional Service Activities/Non-academic Career Background:
I also have several years of work experience in advertising and public relations, working in an agency setting as well as helping nonprofit organizations. For more information, see here.
