Discussion with director Jeff Roy and Maya Jafer to follow. Screened in conjunction with the UWM LGBT Resource Center.


Presentations

November 30th, 9:30 AM-4:00 PM; December 1st, Noon-5:00 PM, UWM Libraries 4th Floor Conference Center
Panels will address a wide variety of topics including body modification, spiritual community and gender variance, trans feminism, gender policing, intersectional identity, genital surgery imposed on intersex infants, political activism, antidiscrimination protection, gendercrossing history, "bathroom panic," agender identity, drag and gender play, and societies with three, four, or more sex categories.

Author of Fixing Sex: Intersex, Medical Authority, and Lived Experience. Reception to follow.


Exhibits

November 30th, 9:30 AM-6:30 PM; December 1st, Noon-5:00 PM, UWM Libraries 4th Floor Conference Center
Exhibited will be artwork by local artists, zines from the collection of the Queer Zine Archive Project, undergraduate projects produced by students in UWM LGBT Studies classes, and materials from the UWM Libraries Archives & Special Collections, including the Milwaukee Transgender Oral History Project.
