Graduate Special Emphases

A Special Emphasis is similar to a graduate minor. Although the Special Emphasis designation does not appear on the graduate transcript, the student may make note of it on the c.v. In addition, students may request a letter for their job placement file that describes the Special Emphasis they selected. Two graduate concentrations currently offer a Special Emphasis: Rhetoric and Composition and Professional Writing. Master's and doctoral students may elect to pursue a Special Emphasis offered by any plan except their own.
