Students will speak and write about Sienkiewicz's style, narrative technique, and point of view, as well as about individual characters, their actions, and language. The course will feature a guest lecture on the history of Rome and a discussion about Jeremiah Curtin of Greenfield, Wisconsin, translator of Sienkiewicz's novels.
