L&S Emeritus Faculty Support Policy

This document briefly summarizes the nature and scope of the support that LSITO can provide to members of the College’s Emeritus Faculty.

Scope of Hardware Support

LSITO support is provided to L&S Emeritus Faculty only for L&S-owned and -managed PC and Macintosh computers.

  • On-campus hardware: LSITO provides the same support for the on-campus, L&S-owned and –managed PC and Macintosh computers of Emeritus Faculty members as it does for other members of the L&S Faculty and Staff.
  • Off-campus hardware: Given technical, cost, and personnel limitations, only limited support can be provided for off-campus, L&S-owned and –managed PC and Macintosh computers in use by L&S Emeritus Faculty.
  • Personally owned hardware: LSITO provides no support for the personally owned computers of Emeritus Faculty.
    • Personally owned hardware: LSITO provides no support for the personally owned computers of Emeritus Faculty.
    • For basic questions only on personally owned computers, Emeritus Faculty members may consult the UWM Campus Help Desk (414-229-4040 or help@uwm.edu.)

Campus IT Services Support

For L&S Emeritus Faculty, University Information Technology Services (UITS), the UWM Campus’ Central Information Technology Office, provides access to, and support for Campus IT services such as PantherLINK (campus e-mail), PantherFile (campus, web-accessible storage).

Support for these campus services should be accessed through the UWM Campus Help Desk (414-229-4040 or help@uwm.edu.)

Software Licensing

Based on the specific terms of the relevant licenses, L&S Emeritus Faculty are not eligible for “work-at-home” or any other university academic discounts for software.

Planning for Emeritus Status
