This master's thesis is a survey of a Hybrid Genetic Algorithm named GOUC, that was developed as part of my diploma thesis at the University of Applied Sciences Aachen under the supervision of Prof. Dr. rer. nat. Gerhard Dikta. Conditions under which GOUC converges towards a global maximum of a multi-extremal, real valued function g: D → ℜ that is differentiable on the interior of a compact domain D ⊂ ℜn will be investigated. In order to evaluate the stochastic convergence behavior of GOUC a Markov model will be established.
