Admissions

In order to enroll in the MLS program, an applicant must be admitted to the UWM Graduate School. Specific MLS admission requirements include:

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university, evidenced by transcripts.

  • Two-page essay describing the applicant's interest in undertaking interdisciplinary graduate study, including any prior personal, professional, or academic experience related to this goal.

  • Interview with MLS Program Director.

  • For international students, a minimum score of 250 on the new Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) and 50 on the Test of Spoken English (TSE).

Costs

Refer to the UWM Graduate School's Graduate and Graduate Non-Degree tuition section of the tuition-fee schedule for information on costs. A modest fee of approximately $100 per credit will be assessed due to the program's innovative nature, intimate scale, special staffing and facilities, and extracurricular offerings.
