UWM professor named American Physical Society Fellow

patrick_bradyPatrick Brady, UWM physics professor, and director of UWM's Center for Gravitation and Cosmology, has been elected a Fellow of the American Physical Society.

This honor is in recognition of Brady's pioneering contributions to gravitational-wave physics and the search for gravitational waves, and for studies that deepened our understanding of singularities and of critical collapse.Brady's research interests include the dynamics of gravitational collapse, black holes, numerical relativity including simulation of binary coalescence, and the detection of gravitational waves using interferometric gravitational-wave detectors.

UWM Physics faculty now includes 6 APS Fellows: Bruce Allen, Patrick Brady, John Friedman, Abbas Ourmazd, Leonard Parker, and Michael Weinert.
