Driving to Campus from Downtown
UWM is located only a few miles north of downtown. The quickest, easiest, and most scenic way to get to the UWM campus is to drive up the lakefront on Lincoln Memorial Drive until it intersects with Lake Drive.
Scenic Lake Route from Downtown Area: Take I-794 east to Lakefront exit. Proceed 3 miles north along the lake on Lincoln Memorial Drive to the top of the hill, where Lincoln Memorial Drive becomes E. Kenwood Boulevard. Make a right and you will be in North Lake Drive. Continue for two blocks. Hefter Center will be on your left. Interactive map of the UWM Campus.
Driving to Campus from North of Milwaukee
Take I-43 south to the Capitol Dr. East exit. Proceed east on Capitol to N. Downer Ave., then south (right) on Downer five blocks to campus. See Google Maps, and search "Milwaukee, WI, UWM Campus."
