Applying to the Graduate Certificate Program
Applicants to the Graduate Certificate program must pass a Translation qualifying exam in their language pair to be considered for admission. For more information and to register for the exam, please see Qualifying Exam.
Applicants must also apply for non-degree admission. Certificate students may take up to 4 courses at the undergraduate level and 4 courses at the graduate level; therefore they must submit two applications to complete the Certificate:
- University Special Student application (for undergraduate courses)
- Graduate Non-Degree Student application (for graduate courses)
After passing the Translation qualifying exam, students should consult with the Chair of Translation & Interpreting Studies, Professor Lorena Terando (firstname.lastname@example.org), to determine the appropriate application for the first semester of enrollment.
Plans of study for each language track in the Graduate Certificate in Translation program can be found on our Graduate Certificate page.
