M.A. Option

Students wishing to earn a 30-credit Master's Degree in Translation must take all courses at the Graduate level.

Certificate students wishing to earn an M.A. should apply for degree candidacy in the MAFLL Program before completing 12 credits of course work. Certificate courses taken at the Graduate level will, upon acceptance to the MAFLL Program and completion of the appropriate forms, be applied toward the Master's Degree.

In addition to the Foundation and Certificate courses, M.A. candidates must take two additional courses as follows:

  • CompLit/Trnsltn 820: Translation Theory

  • One literature course in your B language or a course in your area of specialization

M.A. candidates must also pass a comprehensive examination.
