L&S Undergraduate Programs
The College of Letters & Science (L&S) offers both Bachelor of Arts (BA) and Bachelor of Science (BS) degrees to undergraduate students. Our coursework and majors span all of the areas that are traditionally thought of as making up a liberal arts education and students take classes across all three broad areas to complete their degree:
- Humanities - the human condition and culture as expressed through language, literature, arts and philosophy
- Natural Sciences - mathematics and the physical world
- Social Sciences - behavior, relationships and society.
Our courses are taught from an interdisciplinary perspective that reflects our strong belief in the interrelationship between subject areas. Successful graduates will need a broad base of knowledge to draw upon in order fully analyze problems and make good decisions in their chosen profession.
In addition to majors and minors, we also offer undergraduate certificate programs. Comprised of 18 to 21 credits in a specialized subject matter, certificate programs draw on courses from multiple departments and discipliness. Certificates can be combined with any degree program or are available as a stand-alone option for individuals, such as working professionals, wishing to expand their knowledge in a particular field.
