Advancing Human Progress: Mayor Frank P. Zeidler’s Vision for Milwaukee

On September 20, 2012, UWM's Urban Studies Programs sponsored an Exhibition Opening and Breakfast, “Advancing Human Progress: Mayor Frank P. Zeidler’s Vision for Milwaukee,” Urban Studies Director, Jasmine Alinder emceed the event. Mayor Barrett proclaimed September 20th "Frank P. Zeidler Day," and presented the proclamation to four of Frank Zeidler's daughters. Jeanne Zeidler, former mayor of Williamsburg, VA, reflected on her father's life as mayor of Milwaukee from 1948-1960, and his many contributions to the city. Mayor Barrett, and aldermen Bob Bauman and Nik Kovac, spoke about Mayor Frank Zeidler's life in public service and his significant legacy for the city of Milwaukee. Bauman and Kovac read selections from Zeidler's poetry.
