Over 11,000 images from multiple photographic collections are found on the AGSL Digital Collections Portal. Selected images from the AGSL print archive can be seen through the work of the UWM Libraries Digitization Department, who continuously add new images to the digital archive.
Photographers represented in the portal include Harrison Forman, Harold Mayer, Clarence W. Sorensen, Eugene V. Harris, William O. Field, and many others.
1,300 prints covering 21 of India's 35 states and union territories. Images are primarily from 1966-1973, covering housing, urban development, cultural history, colonialism, and geology.
4,000 prints and negatives spanning the 1920's through 1970's. Coverage spans seven populated regions of the world, with emphasis on China and Indonesia. Events covered Forman's Tibet imagery, the Sino-Japanese War, Chinese Civil War, the Henan Famine, and the Blitzkrieg of Poland in World War II.
The Mary Murphy Collection of over 14,600 slides covering tourism and education in over 80 countries on six continents, is a result of her worldwide travels as the S.L.A. representative to the Geography and Map Librarian section of the International Federation of Library Associations (IFLA), Map Curators’ workshops, S.L.A., and ZONTA conferences from 1965 through 2007.
The Sorensen Photo Inventory includes 32,000 contact prints and negatives spanning 1940-1970. Coverage includes all seven populated regions of the world, with emphasis on manufacturing and rural agriculture. Geographical emphasis on South America, South Asia, the Mediterranean, and western United States & Canada.
