Undergraduate major and minor. Major specialization is in Political Economy or Culture and Society.

Studies include: African-American literature, philosophy, and religious thought; African-American history and politics, particularly urban and constitutional history as well as slavery and its economic context; economic problems of Black business; black workers, technology, and society; social justice and injustice; social change; Black/White cooperation and conflict; urban violence; the Black social and cultural tradition; the African-American concept of self, particularly in relation to the Media; Black personality development; psychological effects of racism; church and school in African-American life; Black and White women in the U.S.; sex, marriage, and extended families; African societies and cultures; African international relations and economic relations; South Africa; Black Brazilian society; and social science methodological studies.
