Rebecca Littman, UWM Music Librarian

Rebecca Littman, Music Librarian, hails from the 'Pacific Wonderland' state of Oregon but her musical studies have taken her from Amherst, MA to Davis, CA and on to Seattle, WA where she got her Master of Librarianship at the University of Washington. Her first professional position was as Music Librarian with Technology Specialization at East Carolina University in Greenville, NC.

Since her arrival at UWM in February of 1998, Rebecca has forged strong ties to the Music Department, including teaching the Graduate Research in Music course and performing with the Collegium Musicum as a singer and racket player.

Rebecca is heavily involved in the Music Library community both locally and nationally. Having served as originating webmaster to the Southeast Chapter of MLA, & chaired the committee that developed the Music Library Association webpage, she now serves as webmaster to the Midwest Chapter of MLA and the Music OCLC User's Group (MOUG), as well as on a variety of committees with all of these groups.

Quote: "I love my job. I can't imagine doing anything other than music librarianship and I talk about it to anyone who will listen until they tell me to stop or run screaming from the room."

Rebecca's personal website can be viewed at http:www.efn.org/~rjl. The syllabus for Music 660-710, Research Methods in Music, is available here.
