New Scanner Improves Microprint Accessibility
A ScanPro 2000 Universal Scanner is now available in the Microtext Research Collection in the Media Library. The compact reader is capable of scanning all microformats, including microopaque and ultrafiche microfilm.
The opaque feature will render the Library's extensive microprint collections, Landmarks of Science, Early American Imprints I & II and Early American Newspapers, easily accessible for the first time.
The ScanPro is software driven, and editing features that were once done manually are now easily adjusted using the onscreen menu. Other outstanding features include a 24" monitor, optical lenses 7x to 105x, and an Energy Star rating that exceeds current guidelines.
