Segment Description: The Milwaukee Newsreel Program. Pvt. Roger Kniess of Milwaukee visited his family while home on leave from the Korean War.  Also, Blatz and Schlitz Breweries prepared large shipments of beer that were sent to soldiers in Korea.  Executives from both breweries are shown, see script for names.

Segment Description: The Milwaukee Newsreel Program. The family of Martin Brueggman gathered at the Schlitz Brown Bottle to celebrate his 85th birthday.  Brueggman was a guide at the brewery for 60 years.  His son, Edwin, was a bartender at the Brown Bottle for 20 years.

Segment Description: The Milwaukee Newsreel Program. Footage of the concrete footings for the new Schlitz Brewery grain elevator being poured.  When finished, the grain elevator will be the largest in the world.

Segment Description: The Milwaukee Newsreel Program. The Schlitz Brewery held its Christmas Party at the Auditorium.  The party drew 1,600 people.  Erwin and Robert Uihlein are shown with Sol Abrams.  The dinner and speech were followed by dancing.

Schlitz Brewery and Northwest Airlines gave a party for 140 foreign students at the Schlitz Brown Bottle.  Maurice Bloesch, manager of the Brown Bottle, and Fred Uihlein are seen with some of the students.  See script for names of students and their home countries.

The Milwaukee Association of Purchasing Agents honors Fred Benz, Fred Haker, and Henry Haman for many years of service to their respective companies.  Louis Piccoli is honored for 18 years of service to the Pabst Brewery and Sam Ferrito for 46 years at Blatz Brewery.

Segment Description: The Milwaukee Newsreel Program. Officials from the Blatz Brewery board a United Air flight at Mitchell Field.  The trip was to promote the "Amos 'n Andy" program which was switching from radio to television.  Blatz was the sponsor of the show.

Segment Description: The Milwaukee Newsreel Program. Footage of the inside and outside of what is left of the chimney at the Pabst Brewery.  The chimney was taken down brick by brick.  Ernest Ploetcker of the Brewery points out what work still needs to be done.

Segment Description: The Milwaukee Newsreel Program. The Schlitz Brewery celebrated the six millionth barrel of 1952.  Top brewery officials, as well as thousands of others, waited for the barrel to come off the production line.  A party was then held at the Schlitz garage.

Segment Description: The Milwaukee Newsreel Program. Otto Johnson, Ed Aehl, and Frank Walczek, members of the Pabst Brewery Bait Team prepare for the upcoming Trout Festival in Marinette.  Barbara Wicker, Trout Festival Queen, tells stories about the glorious trout.

Segment Description: The Milwaukee Newsreel Program. The city-wide brewery strike is in its seventh day.  Striking Pabst workers try to block coal deliveries for the brewery powerhouse.  Workers at five other local breweries strike for higher wages and a shorter workweek.

Segment Description: The Milwaukee Newsreel Program. Members of the CIO Brewery Workers Union gather at County Stadium before forming a motorcade to the Auditorium.  The workers have been on strike against the six local breweries for two months.  They want a 35-hour work week and a pay increase.

Segment Description: The Milwaukee Newsreel Program. The 76-day strike by brewery workers in Milwaukee ended when the proposed agreement was approved by a vote at the Auditorium.  Workers returned to the breweries within an hour of the ratification and resumed production.  See script for a list of names.

Jerry Hickey of the Schlitz Brewing Company greets Mr. and Mrs. Erwin Becker.  The couple celebrated their wedding at the Schlitz Palm Garden 60 years ago.  They visit the spot, now a Five & Ten Cent Store, before dining at the Schlitz Brown Bottle.

Segment Description: Special Assignment. David Pabst, owner of Pabst Farm Number Five, decided to reduce the size of his herd because the path of the new Interstate 94 isolated the farm from the other farm units. The auction was attended by local, national, and international buyers.

Segment Description: Special Assignment. The segment explains why the silos at Pabst Farm Number Five have to be demolished. Men lay dynamite near the base of the silos to weaken them and then a second blast brings them down. See script for names.

Segment Description: Daily Footage. Miller Sign extra. Footage of the Miller sign atop a building being dedicated. Miller CEO Charles Miller, Marilyn Sowa, and S. J. Lattow of the Federal Sign Company, dedicate the sign with a bottle of Miller Beer. The sign replaced the "girl in the moon" sign.

Segment Description: Daily Footage. Members of United Black Enterprises, a group seeking to buy the Blatz Brewery, hold a press conference. Harold B. Jackson and Theodore Mack discuss the financial pledges of support they have received. They also discuss the acquisition of assets and say they expect employees to be committed spiritually.

Segment Description: Daily Footage. Exterior footage of County Stadium where brewery workers have voted to end their strike. Union president Kenneth G. Mueller speaks to the press about the new contract. Several workers leaving the stadium are interviewed and express happiness with the vote.
