Segment Description: The Milwaukee Newsreel Program. Footage of many of the exhibits in the Wisconsin at Work Building at the State Fair.  Among the exhibits are the Van De Graff generator, a Nash automobile, a pipeline, paintings, and free dental x-rays.

Segment Description: The Milwaukee Newsreel Program. Footage of the Armed Forces Day parade at the State Fair.  "Alice in Dairyland," Marjean Czerwinski, rides in the parade along with military equipment.  Toddler David Jenkins shows his enthusiasm for the parade.

Segment Description: The Milwaukee Newsreel Program. Children enjoy many different rides at the Wisconsin State Fair.  WTMJ-TV's Uncle Norm did a special show from the Fair.  Teens readied animals for judging and "Alice in Dairyland" congratulated the winners of the freckles contest.  See script for names.

Segment Description: The Milwaukee Newsreel Program. Another attraction at the State Fair was harness racing.  Mainliner, owned by Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Kroening of Milwaukee, was the star of the race.  He was driven by Guy Crippen of West Allis.

Segment Description: The Milwaukee Newsreel Program. Footage of the Wisconsin State Fair opening day parade in downtown Milwaukee.  The parade consisted of numerous units including the Racine YMCA Kiltie Drum and Bugle Corps, "Alice in Dairyland," and a circus calliope operated by Ray Westphal.

Segment Description: The Milwaukee Newsreel Program. The 31st Engineer Combat Battalion from Camp McCoy demonstrated Army assault techniques on pretend enemy positions at the Wisconsin State Fair.  There were pretend casualties but real TNT explosions and flame throwers.

Segment Description: The Milwaukee Newsreel Program. Footage of the Wisconsin State Fair.  Among the things to see were men making wooden wheel barrows the way they did in 1890 and others making aluminum ashtrays using modern metal production techniques.  See script for names.

Segment Description: The Milwaukee Newsreel Program. An antique car show and race was held at the Wisconsin State Fair.  Some of the cars featured were a 1902 Rambler, a 1908 Orient, a 1909 Cadillac and a 1924 Rolls Royce.  See script for names.

Segment Description: Special Assignment.  Part one in a three part series on the State Fair.  Youngsters work hard to prepare their cattle for judging at the State Fair.  Boys and girls are shown washing, clipping hair and polishing the toes of their cows before they are judged.  See script for names.

Segment Description: Special Assignment.  Part two in a three part series on the State Fair.  Over 2,000 youths from around the state participate in the State Fair.  While at the Fair, kids sleep and eat at the Youth Center.  Footage from inside the Youth Center and of kids preparing their animals for judging.  See script for names.

Segment Description: Special Assignment.  Part three in a three part series on the State Fair.  The 100,000 plus people who attended the State Fair created a lot of trash.  The clean up of the grounds is shown with people pushing brooms and burning trash in the incinerator.  See script for names.

Segment Description: Special Assignment.  Part one in a three part series on the State Fair.  Footage of different buildings used for the State Fair and the fairgrounds.  Fair director William Masterson is interviewed about the debate over whether the Fair should find a new home.

Segment Description: Special Assignment.  Part two in a three part series on the State Fair.  Exterior building scenes.  Two proposed  plans would move the Fair out of West Allis.  Fair director William Masterson discusses these proposals.

Segment Description: Special Assignment.  Each afternoon at the State Fair at 4 p.m., James Rabas fires up his steam engine for a display of grain thrashing on the farm.  The Algoma car dealer and mechanic is an ardent steam fan.  His son, Jim, helps operate the machinery.

Segment Description: Daily Footage. An unidentified man shows a model for a proposed plan to rebuild the Wisconsin State Fair grounds. Herbert Velser answers questions regarding the revenues the project will bring in as well as a deadline for completing the renovation. He also talks about the type of program the State Fair can support, he compliments the staff, and says the Fair needs two and a half times the amount of revenue it now gets.
