FAQs
Can my group use the Group Study Rooms even if I haven't reserved it before hand?
As long as the room has not been reserved at that time, your group is free to use a Group Study Room. If all Group Study Rooms are in use, there are several other group rooms in the LC, and the hallways between the East and West Wings are also encouraged to be used for collaboration.
If the room isn't being used can I study in the Group Study Room by myself?
No. These rooms are set aside for group work. If you need a quiet space to study, the library has two designated Quiet Study areas: 2nd floor East Wing, beyond the Music Library, and Lower Level East Wing (follow the signs for Compact Shelving). In addition, the desks near the stacks on other floors are usually quiet.
Where can I park after 12:00 AM?
Union Parking Garage - FOR STUDENTS IN THE LEARNING COMMONS ONLY! Stop by the Welcome Desk in the Learning Commons to register your vehicle for a permit valid anytime between 12:00 AM – 6:00 AM. Sandburg Hall Parking Garage has metered spaces 24 Hours a day. For a complete parking, see the Learning Commons Policies page.
Why aren’t there any open computers?
If what you need is a computer to quickly print off an assignment, there are 4 designated stand-up quick print stations on the south side of the Learning Commons. You can check the availability at other labs here.
How do I print here?
Printing in the library is the same as printing in other campus computer labs. You must first buy a print card. Printing is $.06 per double-sided page. Any print job sent to a printer in the library will show up on any print station. Color printing is available for $.50 a page. You cannot print from your laptop.
Can I make a copy or a scan?
There are two copiers in the Learning Commons; there are also copiers in other parts of the library. Copying is $.15 per page. Scanning is free! Two flat bed scanners (OCR) are on the south side. The copier in the south side is also a scanner; the copier in the Media and Reserve Library makes scans as well.
Can I access wireless on my laptop?
Wireless access is available throughout the library. More information.
