Michelle Harrell Washington: Ask the Multicultural Services Librarian
The Multicultural Services Librarian develops and coordinates diversity services and initiatives for the UWM Libraries. Research and information services are provided for the following areas of study: Africology/African American Studies, Hispanic/Latino(a) Studies, American Indian Studies, Asian/Asian American Studies, and all areas of Diversity Studies. Services provided include:
- Research assistance for all UWM students taking any course with a diversity component, and for UWM faculty and staff teaching courses or conducting research in any area of diversity
- Individual, small group, and course-integrated instruction in the use of print and electronic materials relating to coursework in all areas of multicultural studies
- Research consultation, one-on-one in-depth research assistance with specific library research processes related to cultural diversity
- Assistance to UWM students of color and disadvantaged students in their areas of coursework and research
- Reading and resource lists on diversity topics
