This session will cover the online catalog, electronic databases, Internet
sources, and print materials.
This workshop will take place in room E159 in the east wing of the library.

How to tell if a copy of a journal/magazine
is located in the UWM Libraries:

The Multimedia Library exists to collect, maintain and provide access to a variety of Multimedia materials including 1/2 VHS videotape, DVD, laserdisc and CD-ROM's. Since the titles can be located under a multitude of subject heading in the library's online catalog, here are some suggestions for locating a media title using PantherCat: Click on the Note: Limits only work in Keyword, Title and Advanced Searches. |

How to tell if a copy of a journal/magazine is located in the UWM Libraries:
- Click on the Library Catalog on the library's home page www.uwm.edu/Libraries.
- Select Journal/Magazine/Newspaper Title.
- Type the title of the journal (NOT the article!). Example: Type Film Quarterly.
- If the library does not have the journal, a message will display that "Your search resulted in no hits."
- If the library does have the journal, verify that the library has the volume and issue you need.
- Write down the call number.
- If their the call number is "Click on the internet link above"go to the Internet Link at the top o f the record (double check the Library Has area to see which issues are available online).
- If you need an issue which is listed in the "Latest Issues" section, go to the Current Periodicals room in the Lower Level, West wing of the library and look for the call number.
- If you need an issue in the "Library Has" section and the location is Stacks, determine the correct floor using the first letter of the call number and the Floor Key (A-L,P 3rd/M-N,Q-R 2nd/S-Z Lower). If the journal is not located in the Stacks, note the floor and wing of the location (e.g. Microforms - Microfilm (Lower Level, West).
