1 Day Professional Development Plan (PDP) Reviewer Training Session
*SPACE IS STILL AVAILABLE!*
The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee School of Education-Outreach, in conjunction with the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction
Thursday, June 18, 2009, 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Training will allow participants to be listed in the DPI database as qualified reviewers of a professional development team, as well as provide services such as reviewing and approving PDPs and mentoring initial educators. Available for licensed teachers, licensed administrators, licensed pupil service personnel, and IHE representatives. Remember that initial educators will also gain appropriate information from this session.

Lunch will be provided, and parking passes for the UWM Union garage will be available.

Training will be held in the UWM Union, Room 191, 2200 E Kenwood Blvd., Milwaukee.

"Summertime and Your Personal Learning Network,"

In this webinar, our guests will discuss the value of online collaboration and provide guidance for those interested in joining or creating a professional development community during the summer months. They will share their own experiences of expanding their knowledge and improving their practice through online conferences, social networks, and other collaborative technologies. In addition, they will demonstrate tools and best practices to promote technology integration in K-12 classrooms.

"An Educators Guide to School Safety and Security"

Time: 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Location: Menomonee Falls High School, Library, W142 N8101 Merrimac Dr., Menomonee Falls, WI
Workshop fee: $40
This workshop will provide an in-depth examination of the four phases of crisis management as currently exercised in established best practices. Each phase, prevention, preparedness, response and recovery will be addressed in multiple modalities including dialectic engagement, active learning through examination and analysis of historical school crisis events and case studies, application of theory to given scenarioes, evaluation of systems and procedures currently in place and creation/modification of an actual crisis plan.
