EMAIL ALERT SERVICES
Many databases offer an email alerting service for users. Some databases allow for saved searches and update users via email when new materials match preselected search terms. Other databases offer Table of Contents updates sending users information on the contents of journals they are interested in. Below is a list of databases available at UWM Libraries that offer email alerting services. Brief descriptions of their services and instructions for setting up alerts are included.
- Access each database from the UWM Libraries homepage: Resources A-Z .
- Some form of personal login will be required, either before setting up an alert or as part of the process.
- In subscribing or signing up for any account, all fields marked with an * asterisk are required.
- Each database will allow the user to unsubscribe or modify a profile.
- For additional information on setting up personal accounts for alert services, use the Help screens offered within each database.
In addition to these databases there are a number of electronic journals to which the UWM Libraries hold direct subscriptions via Emerald. Many of these offer a Table of Contents alert. To find out which journals offer this service go to Emerald Alert. Click on "My Profile" and follow the instructions, including filling out any required forms to sign up. Some journals also offer RSS feeds.
