DIGITAL LITERACY CONTEST
Compete to find information online. $500 in cash prizes. Free food for everyone.
You'll have 30 minutes to answer 20 questions using the Internet. Correct answers are worth points, and incorrect answers are penalized. Highest scores win.
Hosted by the UWM Libraries and the Office of Undergraduate Research Wed, March 10, 11:30am CST. Contest is in the Daniel M. Soref Learning Commons, Library Instruction Room B (W190). Must be present to compete. Computers will be provided, but you are encouraged to bring your laptop.
Example questions include:
* What username edited the Wikipedia article 'Exxon' on August, 26 2007 at 4:02 am?
* In what year was Albert Einstein born?

Getting Started with RefWorks
RefWorks is a web-based research tool that helps you manage citations, create bibliographies, and import references from research databases. Formatting styles include APA, Chicago and MLA. The workshop will cover registering for an account (no-cost for UWM students, staff and instructors), saving citations into a personal RefWorks Account, organizing references and formatting bibliographies.
