
Limited to an edition of 150, with illustrations by Mary M. Escalante. The book, supported by a grant from the Wisconsin Arts Board, with funds from the State of Wisconsin and the National Endowments for the Arts, was letterpress printed by Jim Escalante using handset Spectrum Monotype on slightly damp sheets of his own handmade paper. An MFA graduate of UW-Madison, Jim Escalante founded Iguana Press in 1978 After a stint teaching graphic design at Southwest Missouri State University in the 1980s, Escalante returned to Madison in 1989 as a faculty member in the Art Department, where he currently serves as chair. Jim Escalante was a featured presenter in the 1995 Book FOR[U]MS speaker series. Mary Laird was a panelist in the 1995 3 Women Fine-Press Printers. |
