Limited to an edition of 600 copies, this pop-up book was designed and printed by Washington D.C. artist, printer, and book designer Carol Barton. Printed using a Heidelberg KORD on Mohawk Poseidon 80 lb. cover stock, the book consists of three pop-up, how-to instructions: Carpentry Project (Desk with a Drawer for Each Expectation); Mechanical Project (Clock/Compass for the Time/Space Traveler); Fashion Project (Ready-to-wear for the Rarest of Occasions). The book was printed and constructed at Nexus Press in Atlanta, and made possible through a Nexus Press Residency Award. Book projects at Nexus Press, a programming division of Nexus Contemporary Art Center, were the focus of Leslie Bellavance's 1996 presentation in The Scholar and the Library speaker series. |
