The exhibition "The Book as Process, Text, Object, and
Habit," will be on view at the NML Gallery in the Fine Arts/Communication Arts
Building at Cardinal Stritch University, March 27 - May 7, 2000.
An opening reception for the exhibition will be held in the Gallery on Monday, March 27, 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. The exhibit of over 50 items explores the book as a primal human object that serves as a mirror, companion, and allegory for human thought, self-image, and complexity. Forty five of the books on display are drawn from the rare book and contemporary book-arts collections at UWM's Special Collections, Golda Meir Library. |
A student exhibition, "Student's State of the Book," will run concurrently with "The Book as Process, Text, Object, and Habit."
Gallery hours are: Tuesday, Thursday, 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., Wednesday, 12:00 - 8:00 p.m., Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. The Gallery is free and open to the public. For more information call (414) 410-4100.
