Binding for A. R. Hope Moncrieff's and Sutton Palmer's Bonnie Scotland. London: A. C. Black,
1904. Half goat skin, Italian waxed marbled boards, 22K gold tooling.
When the word "traditional" is used in the book arts, the image of a
binder wearing wing-tip shoes and a bow tie using drab brown leather
comes to mind too often. Here, we see traditional as bright,
interesting, and unique. Personally, I am drawn to meeting the
expectations of clients through traditional approaches.
