Letterpress Works by UWM Faculty and Staff

JAMES TWOMEY

Lecturer, School of Library and Information Science
Owner, Book Restoration Co., Kenosha, Wis.

Binding for A. R. Hope Moncrieff's and Sutton Palmer's Bonnie Scotland. London: A. C. Black, 1904. Half goat skin, Italian waxed marbled boards, 22K gold tooling.

When the word "traditional" is used in the book arts, the image of a binder wearing wing-tip shoes and a bow tie using drab brown leather comes to mind too often. Here, we see traditional as bright, interesting, and unique. Personally, I am drawn to meeting the expectations of clients through traditional approaches.
