| Helen Creighton, Distinguished Professor of Nursing at UWM, combined her knowledge as a lawyer and a nurse to become an authority on legal issues and nursing. Dr. Creighton gave addresses and speeches at nursing conventions and workshops that focused on malpractice issues, the role of the nurse in communicating and observing medical procedures, and other ethical concerns such as terminating life support systems. Law Every Nurse Should Know was designed to inform nurses of their rights and duties under the law in a nontechnical manner. Dr. Creighton held over 700 workshops throughout the 1970's and 1980's. |
