Science Direct Web Editions Discontinued

Dear Campus Community,

Effective March 31, 2008 Elsevier has discontinued free electronic access to their current year journals through Science Direct Web Editions. The cost to continue this service for 2008 would require an additional $170,000, which we do not currently have.

We realize the importance of these resources and you will be able to obtain articles through mediated document delivery or interlibrary loan for those publications for which we do not have print subscriptions. There are options for immediate access to articles for which we do not have in print. This service is available to departments able to provide funding.

Together with UW-Madison we are pursuing access options to online Elsevier journals for next year.
