New Digital Collection: Tibet

You are invited to visit our new digital collection, Tibet -– from the Collections of the American Geographical Society Library. The new project presents historical maps and images of Tibet from the holdings of the American Geographical Society Library. The collection includes a set of early photographs of central Tibet and Lhasa as well as over 800 images from Harrison Forman's expeditions to northern Tibet between 1932 and 1937. The photographic collection is supplemented by four plans of the city of Lhasa and six historical maps of Tibet.
