PantherCat Upgrade August 5 -7 2008.

Due to the UW-Library System upgrade of Voyager over the next two weeks, UW-System borrowing has been disabled. UW-Milwaukee Libraries PantherCat upgrade will take place on August 5 -7 2008. During this time no recall, requests or personal record information will be available. PantherCat however will be available to search and retrieve results. After the upgrade to PantherCat is complete on August 7 2008 we expect to have all services back up and running. UW-System borrowing will again be available the week of August 18, 2008. If you need to request library materials from another UW system library, please make a request through Interlibrary Loan. We thank you for your patience.

Waterproofing Maintenance Project at Library

A project to waterproof the exterior of the Library’s basement walkway between the east and west wing is now underway. Demolition of the surface concrete will occur between July 22 and 24. The project is scheduled to be completed by the last week in August.

Coming Attractions: Multimedia Library to Move

The Multimedia Library will be moving to the lower level West Wing in August and combining with the Current Periodicals and Microforms department to create a new Media Library. This change will increase space, staff, and browsing capabilities for the collections. The two areas will be closed August 18-24 to accommodate these improvements.

Milwaukee Architecture Firm Featured at Local History Lecture

The architectural legacy of the noted Milwaukee firm Willis and Lillian Leenhouts Architects will be explored by local architecture historian Juanita Ellias on Thursday, August 7 at the annual “Revisiting Our Past” local history lecture sponsored by the UWM Libraries Archives Department. more>
