In Their Own Words:
Zak Hanlon, LLC member:
"It's really nice being in the LLC because you are both influenced by other people's styles and knowledge, and you get to influence other people with yours. It's nice to have people who are doing all the same stuff as you less than 30 feet away at all times!"
Taylor Easton, LLC Member:
"The LLC was great for meeting other students in my major. The intimacy of the class allowed us special experiences, projects, and attention. I gained good friends and new skills. I am very glad I was in the LLC - those who aren't miss out!"
Courtney Schmidt, LLC Member and RA:
"Overall, I really enjoyed being a student in an LLC. I liked to have special opportunities that I would not have had otherwise like meeting artists and working on projects in the community. Being in a LLC helped me build strong relationships because I was living with people who were interested in the same things and had similar goals. I was able to meet friends and connect quickly with my classmates because of this. Being in an LLC also helped build strong relationships with my instructors and opened up other opportunities I wouldn't have been interested in without exposure to the LLC."
Calley Kohlhagen, LLC Member:
"The convenience of having classes within my own residency hall made it easier for me to get to know people on my floor and in my other classes. From that experience I still recognize and are friends with the students from my freshman LLC class."

John McGeen, LLC Member:
"I don't understand why everyone doesn't join the LLC. This has been great! We've only been here a month, and I've already made really good friends- we're doing field trips- it's really fun. I mean, why wouldn't anybody want to join the LLC?"
Carlee Latimer, LLC Member:
"I enjoy being a part of the Visual Arts LLC because of the strong connection I get to have with my professor on a personal level. I truly appreciate the one on one critique I get from him and it is very helpful to have someone I can turn to with any questions."
Leah Schreiber Johnson, LLC Instructor:
"Leading the LLC courses is a special experience because we work closely with the students to create meaningful learning experiences. Through community collaborations, public art development, and exciting group exhibition events, students engage in art making to a level that is unmatched by the traditional classroom experience."
