Pre-service training provides an introduction to BMCW mission, purpose, structure, policy, procedure, job functions, and the legal codes central to public child welfare in Milwaukee.
The Foundation Series for Case Managers provides the fundamental knowledge and skill necessary for public child welfare practice.
The Foundation Series for Supervisors provides the fundamental knowledge and skills necessary for supervising casework and for guiding and building staff.
Continuing Education in Child Welfare training classes should be taken on an ongoing basis to continually develop knowledge and skill. Session topics change in response to BMCW and statewide priorities. Sessions cover a broad range of skills and topics including: the Impact of Domestic Violence, Children's Mental Health Issues and Services, and Indian Child Welfare Act, etc.
