About Training Program

The Foster and Adoptive Parent Training Program is comprised of two components: pre-placement PACE training and follow-up In-service offerings. The PACE training is completed by all parents prior to having a child placed in the home. It consists of a 12-module curriculum that provides the fundamental information needed to provide for a safe and nurturing environment for the child. In-service trainings are also offered, providing more advanced information and specific skills training for foster/adoptive parents. It is required that all foster and adoptive parents receive a minimum of 10 hours each year of in-service trainings to maintain licensure as a foster/adoptive parent.
