2014 Melvin Lurie Award Ceremony
On September 22, 2014, the 26th annual Melvin Lurie Award Ceremony was held at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM). Two prizes were given to honor the founder of the Masters in Industrial and Labor Relations (now MHRLR) program, the late Professor Melvin Lurie of the UWM Economics Department;
Rodney Swain, Dean of the College of Letters & Science, and Timothy Smunt, Dean of the Sheldon B. Lubar School of Business, awarded the prizes.
Navjit Dang received the Melvin Lurie Memorial Prize. The prize is given to an outstanding student or recent alumnus of the Masters in Human Resources and Labor Relations (MHRLR) Program.
Outpost Food and the United Food and Commercial Workers (UFCW) Local 1473 received the 17th Melvin Lurie Labor-Management Cooperation prize.
