2015 Melvin Lurie Award Ceremony
On September 28, 2015, the 28th annual Melvin Lurie Award Ceremony was held at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM). Two prizes were given to honor the founder of the Masters in Industrial and Labor Relations (now MHRLR) program, the late Professor Melvin Lurie of the UWM Economics Department;
Rodney Swain, Dean of the College of Letters & Science, and Purushottam Papatla, Interim Associate Dean of the Sheldon B. Lubar School of Business, awarded the prizes.
Trisha Adams received the Melvin Lurie Memorial Prize. The prize is given to an outstanding student or recent alumnus of the Masters in Human Resources and Labor Relations (MHRLR) Program.
Peter Davis, Chief Legal Counsel of the Wisconsin Employment Relations Commission, received the 18th Melvin Lurie Labor-Management Cooperation prize.
