The Role of Individual Giving in Sustaining Nonprofits

Patrick Rooney, a nationally recognized scholar on philanthropy, will explore the role individual charitable giving can realistically play in supporting nonprofits and their work. Dr. Rooney will present findings from his own research on philanthropy and engage attendees in understanding the implications of research that shed light on the following:

Patterns and trends in individual giving
Why individuals contribute to nonprofit organizations
How other forms of nonprofit revenue--especially government funds--affect a nonprofit's ability to raise funds from individuals
How understanding the issues above can contribute to nonprofit fundraising strategies
