Community Initiatives

The Helen Bader Institute for Nonprofit Management works to enhance organizational efficiency and effectiveness in the Greater Milwaukee area through community initiatives and organizational capacity building projects. These projects provide technical assistance and other management support and information services to local nonprofit organizations, and increase public awareness of the importance of effective nonprofit management and leadership.

ENTECH (Empowering Nonprofits in Technology)

ENTECH provides nonprofit organizations in the Greater Milwaukee area with technology knowledge, strategies and options that strengthen their internal competencies, enabling them to better achieve their missions. ENTECH has no vested interest in any particular technology, product or approach enabling it to maintain an independent, informed perspective. Services include technology assessments and consulting, online resources, linkage to technology equipment and technology conferences and workshops.

Nonprofit Portal of Greater Milwaukee

The Nonprofit Portal increases the availability and accessibility of information regarding training and learning events and information resources of interest to nonprofit organizations in Greater Milwaukee. Subscribe to the Portal’s e-newsletter, the Nonprofit Portal Digest, which gives people who care about nonprofits a connection to a broad community of practice.

Discussion Forums

HBI periodically convenes “Forums on the Nonprofit Sector” to promote greater understanding of national issues that affect the nonprofit sector. The Forums encourage dialogue among diverse stakeholders on important nonprofit issues, leading toward greater understanding and more productive partnerships to address community challenges. Opportunities to engage in forums are advertised through the Nonprofit Portal or through direct invitation from HBI.
