Nonprofit Management Education:
Sharing Knowledge, Building Community
This initiative to strengthen Milwaukee's nonprofit organizations and the essential services they provide is the product of an important community-wide partnership that brings UWM together with several major foundations and nonprofits in metropolitan Milwaukee. It has been recognized with a total of nearly $2 million in grants from the Helen Bader, Faye McBeath and Greater Milwaukee Foundations. The initiative was inaugurated as the Helen Bader Institute for Nonprofit Management Education in 2001 and is housed on the UWM campus. It provides education and training to enhance leadership and management of nonprofit organizations and offers technical assistance to nonprofits in areas ranging from planning to marketing to financial management.
