The Experience Diversity is a half-day welcome program for new students from diverse backgrounds. It offers unique opportunities for these students to meet each other; get information and tips; connect with professors and staff; learn from students who are successful at UWM; have fun; and win prizes. The program starts at 12:30 p.m. and parents/family are welcome to join students at the 4:30 p.m. reception (see tentative program below).
Students will not only experience diversity, but will also connect with the staff from the multicultural offices (Black Cultural Center, African American Student Academic Services, American Indian Student Services, Roberto Hernandez Center, and the Southeast Asian-American Student Services), the First Year Center, the LGBT Resource Center, the Student Accessibility Center, the Academic Opportunity Center, the Women's Resource Center, and the Center for International Education - offices that will help and support their transition to college and be successful at UWM.
