Faculty Recruitments

As part of a major research growth initiative, The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee is seeking applicants for multiple tenure-track faculty positions in the neurosciences. These new faculty will build directly on the current strength of our program. We expect that most of these appointments will be made at the Assistant Professor level.

Behavioral Neuroscience, Psychology

Candidates in Behavioral Neuroscience (2 positions) should employ modern technical approaches to address important questions related to motivation, development, learning and memory, or neurological disorders.

Cognitive Neuroscience, Psychology

Successful applicants in Cognitive Neuroscience (2 positions) will participate in the Functional Imaging Research Center (www.firc.mcw.edu) which provides multiple research dedicated imaging platforms and technical infrastructure for brain mapping in human subjects and laboratory animals.

Area of research specialization is open but outstanding individuals with interests in perception, language, memory, or emotion are particularly encouraged to apply.

Applicants must have a Ph.D. in neuroscience or a closely related field and significant postdoctoral research experience. Responsibilities include developing an independent extramurally funded research program and teaching graduate and undergraduate courses in the neurosciences and experimental psychology. Review of applications will begin on December 15, 2008 and continue until the positions are filled.

A complete application will consist of a cover letter, vita, a concise statement of research interests, copies of published work, and three letters of reference.
